Brief Action Planning (BAP)

What is Brief Action Planning?

Brief Action Planning is a highly structured, self management support technique grounded in the principles and practices of Motivational Interviewing and Behavior Change Theory and research (Gutnick et al 2014). The overall goal of BAP is to assist an individual to create an action plan for self-management behavior that they feel confident that they can achieve. Essentially, the core skills of Brief Action Planning can be learned by anyone interested in supporting others to make change.
